How it works and what we assess

In a chilled water system, the chiller cools water and pumps circulate it to air handling unit coils. Air transfers heat as it passes over the coils; water returns to the chiller to repeat the cycle.

How the system works

  1. Produce chilled water

The chiller removes heat from the water circuit.

  2. Exchange heat with the air

Air handling unit coils cool the air passing through them.

  3. Distribute and regulate

Fans, valves and controls adjust supply to each zone.

Why these systems are used

Our recommendation

First define the conditions each space requires. Selection must consider heat, humidity, outdoor air and operating schedules, as well as water and air distribution.

Before selection

  • Calculate the building and zone loads; floor area alone does not determine capacity.
  • Review flow rates, temperatures, filtration, ventilation and maintenance access.
  • When humidity control is required, also evaluate the IceSquare solution using CO₂ in air handling units without electric resistance reheating.
