Heat pumps and hot water for hotels

Hot water for guest rooms and services, air conditioning and refrigeration for hotel operations.

How it works and what we assess

A heat pump takes heat from an available source and transfers it to domestic hot water through a heat exchanger. The refrigerant and water circuits remain separate. Production and storage are coordinated with hotel consumption schedules.

How the system works

  1. Capture heat

The refrigeration circuit transports energy to the water.

  2. Heat and store

Heat exchange raises water temperature; storage is sized for demand.

  3. Supply the services

Distribution delivers water to guest rooms and service areas.

Why these systems are used

Process chillers ↗

A chiller serves the air conditioning chilled water circuit when this is the hotel system architecture.

Air handling units ↗

Air handling units distribute and condition air in areas requiring comfort and ventilation.

Our recommendation

Start with the water consumption profile: how much is needed, at which temperature and at what times. Occupancy and demand peaks help define the combination of production and storage.

Before selection

  • Separate demand for guest rooms, laundry, kitchens and other services.
  • Review inlet, return and supply temperatures, as well as available space.
  • Study hot water and air conditioning as related needs, each with its own load calculation.
